Alumni story: Antoine discovers the true potential of AI

What was your background before enrolling on the course?
Hello, my name is Antoine. Two years ago, I took the data science course at the Artefact School of Data, after which I joined Artefact as a data consultant. I've had quite a varied career. I had a passion for physics and thought about doing a PhD, but I quickly realised that laboratory life wasn't for me. So I chose to go to engineering school, before working for around ten years in the international energy sector. Later, I went to business school, because I was more attracted to business. I then spent about two and a half years in Korea, working on the development of start-ups. It was at one of these startups, a platform for selling second-hand luxury goods, that I discovered the importance of AI for solving business problems. However, my command of AI was limited, as were my development skills and my level of Korean.
What did you enjoy during your data analytics training?
During my training at the School of Data, three aspects particularly impressed me:
- The quality of the speakers. All of them are professionals from either innovative start-ups or major companies, guaranteeing practical knowledge of the business.
- The mentoring programme, which offers a real insight into the professional world, from understanding the data professions to preparing for recruitment interviews.
- The opportunity to demystify AI and data, to understand their challenges, limits and potential for business.
What are your career plans?
I've been with Artefact for a year and a half now, working on a major project for Samsung. My role there is that of Product Owner, acting as the link between the customer and our technical teams. These teams are made up of Data Engineers, who build the infrastructure and manage data collection, and Data Scientists, who develop predictive models for purchasing.

Are the courses face-to-face or distance learning?
We recommend taking the course face-to-face, in order to take full advantage of the learning environment within a leading player in Data and Artificial Intelligence, and to benefit from direct exchanges with the trainers and other participants.
However, for greater flexibility, our courses can also be taken at a distance or in a hybrid format. Every effort is made to ensure that you can participate in the best possible conditions, either from our classroom or from home, depending on your preference. This flexible format has been designed to optimise your learning throughout the course.
