What was your background before enrolling on the course?
I worked as a data analyst for 7 years in intergovernmental organisations.What did you enjoy during your data science course?
I appreciate the thoughtful way in which the courses are constructed. They allow you to develop your skills gradually, making sure you cover the basics before going into more depth. It's also great to learn these subjects in a company full of data scientists. What's more, there are lots of events that we attend to find out about Artefact's projects and meet people.Why did you choose the School of Data?
I chose Artefact because it was one of the only data science programmes I found where we do all the work on our computers, in conditions similar to those in an office. Right from the start, we work with Git, use our virtual environment and so on. The programme is also very well organised and comprehensive.What are your career plans?
I hope to become a data scientist and help intergovernmental organisations make better use of the vast quantities of data and models that exist to guide policy decisions.One word to describe the School of Data?

Who are the teachers?
Your teachers are Data Scientists, Analysts or Senior Engineers by trade. This is very important to us, because they work at the very heart of one of the leaders in Data: Artefact. This means that the tutors are in daily contact with Artefact customers and are responding to real, topical issues in the field. Our training courses are therefore designed around what they experience on a daily basis.
