What was your background before joining the Data Engineer course?

Before joining the course, I was a generalist engineer specialising in data science and artificial intelligence. After my studies, I worked for two years as a Data Scientist, where I had the opportunity to implement machine learning models on a variety of projects.

What motivated you to train in data engineering?

Working as a Data Scientist, I quickly felt the need to broaden my skills beyond simply developing models. I realised the importance of mastering the entire data processing chain, from collection to industrialisation. Training in data engineering I therefore felt it was essential to acquire this more global vision and to be able to build solutions that can be deployed at scale and used in production.

Why did you choose the School of Data?

I chose the School of Data because it's a very project-oriented course, offering a balance between theory and practice. The environment is demanding and stimulating, and allows you to apply the skills you've learned directly through a number of technical challenges. What's more, the face-to-face format was a real asset: it encourages exchanges, mutual support and the creation of a real spirit of promotion among the learners.

Which technical aspects of the course challenged you the most... and which ones fascinated you the most?

What challenged me the most was getting out of my comfort zone by discovering the world of cloud computing and the tools involved in deploying models.
What fascinated me most was learning how to use tools like MLflow to monitor machine learning experiments. This type of tool is crucial for industrialising models, and it gave me a whole new perspective on the work of the data scientist and its integration with data engineering practices.

How did you manage to make the link between the Data Engineer job and your previous experience?

My initial training in data science enabled me to understand the importance of designing robust models. Thanks to the Data Engineer course, I learned to go beyond experimentation to ensure the industrialisation of solutions: data flow management, cloud architecture, model versioning, etc.
Today, I'm better able to anticipate the technical constraints of a data project right from the design stage, which is a valuable skill in multidisciplinary teams.

What tools have you discovered?

I discovered a number of essential data engineering tools:

-Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for cloud infrastructure management,
-Google Cloud Storage for data storage,
-Cloud Run for application deployment,
-MLflow to ensure the monitoring, versioning and reproducibility of machine learning experiments.

If you had to sum up your experience at the School of Data in just one word, what would it be?

Dense. The training is intense, rich in learning, and offers the opportunity to handle a wide variety of tools and technologies. It's a highly formative experience that enables you to rapidly develop your skills and prepare effectively for the realities of the field.

FAQ

Do you have any other questions about Artefact School of Data? We'd love to hear from you.

Are our courses face-to-face and/or distance learning?

We recommend that you come to one of our face-to-face courses to be at the heart of the leader in Data and Artificial Intelligence. However, if you prefer or if you can't do otherwise, our courses can also be taken at a distance or as a hybrid! Everything is designed so that you can follow our courses from our classroom or from home, as you wish. We have made this choice to optimise your learning during the course.

What support is there to help you find a job?

Every day, our students have the opportunity to work alongside Artefact employeesone of the leaders in Data. This means that every day, they meet Data Scientists, Analysts, Engineers, Data Consultants and Data Marketing experts who make up their team. professional network and increase their chances of securing a future position with Artefact or with a partner.

In addition, we offer a Career Day to help you find a job. This includes workshops on job hunting, preparing CVs and LinkedIn profiles, as well as advice on technical interviews.

Who are the teachers?

Your tutors are Data Scientists, Analysts or Senior Engineers by trade. This is very important to us because they work at the very heart of one of the leaders specialising in Data and AI: Artefact. This means that the teachers are in daily contact with Artefact customers and are responding to real, current issues in the field. Our training courses are therefore designed around what they experience on a daily basis.

How do I apply for one of our courses?

The registration process is very simple: you apply directly for the course of your choice, explaining your motivations and describing your career path. You can also download the full programme and then make an appointment with us.

Are our training courses Qualiopi certified?

Our training courses are certified "Qualiopi pour l'action de formation".
